While people will argue to the end of time about how important or unimportant signature links are in forums, it is impossible to say they do nothing. Forum signature links do show up in a backlink search though because most of the thread pages have little or no page rank, it is not considered a strong backlink. Regardless of the mystique that shrouds the true value of signature links as backlinks, they can be used to drive a large amount of traffic to your site- especially if the forum you are posting in is related to your website. Getting back to the point, this post was not intended to talk about signature links. Since I have gotten a good response from my “do follow” blog list, I decided that it was only logical to make a “do follow” forum list. This list will also be updated frequently.
Commenting on blogs can be a great tool when building backlinks. One important thing to consider when using blog comments to increase your backlinks is that “nofollow” blogs, while they still do count, do not provide the “link juice” that “dofollow” links do. So if you are planning on using blog comments to boost your backlinks I very strongly recommend sticking to blogs that use the “dofollow” tag for comments.
