A nice little tweak for XP. Microsoft reserve 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes (suspect for updates and interrogating your machine etc..)

Here’s how to get it back:

Click Start–>Run–>type “gpedit.msc” without the ”

This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:

Local Computer Policy–>Computer Configuration–>Administrative Templates–>Network–>QOS Packet Scheduler–>Limit Reservable Bandwidth

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the ‘Explain’ tab :

“By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default.”

So the trick is to ENABLE reserve able bandwidth, then set it to ZERO.

This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.

Please give me feedback about your results

Let me start this out by saying that I love using Rapidshare. Even though I use it almost everyday it doesn’t seem justifiable to pay for it just to avoid waiting and the upload/download limits; so I did some google-ing and found this short guide to bypassing them. Here are the two methods:

Method 1:UNLIMITED download/upload

Its very easy to fool Rapid Share server if your IP address is assigned by your ISP. Just follow these simple steps:

clean up IE or netscape or Firefox cookie( In this case the one that belong to rapidshare website)
On Command prompt (open MS-DOS)
type —–> ipconfig /flushdns <---Enter
type -----> ipconfig /release <---Enter
type -----> ipconfig /renew <---Enter
type -----> exit <——–Enter

Or save these commands in a bat file and run it everytime you need to fool Rapidshare server. Remember to clean up rapidshare cookie in your temp Internet files folder.

Now you should be ready to download/upload as many files as you want from their server.

another way, get proxies from the internet and apply to the browser.
some of proxies might not work though…

Note:
If you are on a LAN and behind a router (using NAT, for example)—this will not work.
If you use a fixed proxy— this will not work.
If you have a fixed IP address from your ISP or college or employer or whatever — this will not work.
If you happen to get the same IP address from your DHCP server because it’s assigned to you — this will not work

Method 2: NO WAITING

THIS “cheat” for RAPIDSHARE DOWNLOADS eliminates the “WAITING” for the file. No more COUNTDOWNS. So here’s what you do:

1. First, Find a rapidshare download.
2. Hit the FREE BUTTON, like always.
3. While your waiting for it to countdown, change the URL in the bar to:
Code:
java script:c(countdown = 0);
and hit ENTER or the GO button over and over. Eachtime you do so, it decreases 10-20 seconds. Few times and the link appears.
or you can simply do the code below ONCE
java script: for (i=0; i<30; i++) { c(); }

The last two weeks I have been moving into my new apartment, which is why I haven’t been able to write many articles recently. Last night after finishing the last of the unpacking I sat down, had a few beers and decided to have a little fun with my apartment’s wireless network. Here’s a quick and simple guide on how to get on to so called “secure” networks as well as a few things you can do to amuse yourself after you are in. Enjoy!

Finding the network

Most wireless networks are configured to broadcast their SSID (Service Set Identifier), when looking for a network to have some fun with I like to start with these if they are available. If they are broadcasting the SSID there is a little bit less work required, and you can bet that those who have SSID broadcasting turned off have also taken other steps to lock down the network.
If you know that a network exists but you don’t see a SSID in your available networks, or are just curious to see if any are out there, there are a few tools that will get this job done for you.

For Linux users I recommend:

AirJack- A lightweight program. The only drawback is that it is not very user-friendly to those who are not experienced with these type of programs.

Kismet- Unquestionably the most powerful wireless program. Kismet does require you to compile it but if you can manage to get through the install this program will do just about anything you want.

For Windows users I recommend:

AirSnort- Another program that is a pain to get installed, but like Kismet if you can get it installed it will find networks for you.

AirMagnet- To be honest, I haven’t used this one in a while, but I remember that the full version was too resource hungry to run on my laptop- luckily they do have a version for non-servers.

Bypassing WEP or WPA
Let me start this section by saying that WEP encryption is a joke. The only thing turning on WEP does is add some extra information to the packets. I would also like to pre-disclose that there are several different types of WPA (WPA-PSK, WPA2, WPA-TKIP, ect) and the tool I am discussing is limited to WPA-PSK; there are no tools to my knowledge that can crack WPA2 yet.

.
Aircrack is a free Windows/Linux tool that can break both WEP and WPA-PSK. The installation requires you to change your wifi drivers and install their program, guides on how to do this can be found on their website. Once installed Aircrack will attempt to brute force it’s way into a network, the time this takes is dependent on the length and complexity of the passphrase.

Modifying the network

It never fails to surprise me how many routers are left configured to the default admin password and username- if this is the case you can easily hijack an entire network. Most routers can be accessed by typing in 192.168.x.x in your browser, try different combinations of 0, 1 and 2 to find the router. Once you have found the router look around for logos to identify the brand then head on over to the default router password list to find the default credentials.

.
If the default credentials work, you can easily change the passphrase, SSID or completely turn off the router. Since my apartment network was running a little slowly I got on the router and changed the SSID from Appartment5 to Appartment29. I chose to kick users off this way rather than simply changing the passphrase to be a little sneakier. If I changed the passphrase people would still see the network and their password would be rejected- this would surly cause them to go complain to the apartment staff and lead to the router being reset and/or locked down. Since I changed the SSID people will just not see the network there anymore, most people will probably assume the network “when down” and just try to get back on at a later time. By then, all my torrents should have completed and I will have reset the router back to Appartment5.

Spying on Connected Users

On a wireless network, the router effectively screams out requested information from any computer to the whole broadcast radius. This means that you can use a program to eavesdrop on other users on the network. The tools you will need for this are simple- a packet sniffer and a packet compiler. Packet sniffer/recompiler programs are very powerful, they can be used to recreate webpages, AIM conversations, emails and even some downloads. There are some programs that do both, while others only do one function. There are MANY programs available to do this, my favorite is Packet Sniffer SDK, a simple Google search for “packet sniffer” will yield many results, just do this and find one that works for your platform.

There is still lots of fun to be had on the network, I had some fun using “net send” commands to send stupid messages to me neighbors who come over to tell me about the strange pop-ups that they were getting on their machine. While wireless network security has gotten better in recent years, there are still some gaping vulnerabilities, have fun with other’s networks- but don’t get yourself into trouble!

Ever seen something on a store that was out of you budget so you had to either prolong or abandon your purchase? Well with this trick, you will never have to wait again on stores that accept PayPal as a form of payment. Here are 10 easy steps to tricking a store into believing you have paid for an item in full, while only sending whatever amount you want!

To do this hack, you need a FireFox add-on called “Tamper Data”. Get it here.

Download and install Tamper Data.

Use Google to find sites that take Paypal as payment.

Find something that you are interested in. (Paying for scripts seems safest)

Turn on Tamper Data (can be found in tools once installed.)

Click add to cart

Continue to checkout

Right before you click the button to be forwarded to Paypal for payment, turn on Tamper Data in the Tools section of FireFox.

Every time the site tries to store something, Tamper Data pops up and asks what you want to do. Being very careful, glance down and look for the price of the item, if it’s not there, then click ok; If it is then select the price and change it to what you want to pay. Then click ok.

Once Paypal has loaded, turn Tamper Data off by clicking stop tamper.

Notice Paypal now charges you whatever price you entered earlier.

If you get to the Paypal confirm payment page, then you have gone too far, just go back to the beginning and try again.

Additional Notes:

Instead of setting the price to $0.01, set it to 1% of the actual price. This way if the shopkeeper does a quick glance at his Paypal account, he will see $1.50 and may (provided it’s a quick glance) think it’s the correct amount- $150. It’s human nature to speed things up and if the owner sees the order has been paid for in PayPal, most will automatically assume it’s correct.

In the chance that you do get caught this tactic of moving the decimal place also can help the store owner believe the messed up payment is due to a computer problem rather than hacking.

This article is only intended to help storekeepers be more aware of this PayPal flaw, Black Hat Library is not responsible for how you use it!

It appears the problem was that in the .htaccess file that comes with PhpLD 3.3.0 there is a stray “#”. While I’m not 100% sure it’s not supposed to be there I can tell you this much- removing it got URL Rewriting working on several of my directories on the first shot.

Hopefully, this can help save someone the frustration that I went through in getting this so-called simple setting to work.

While people will argue to the end of time about how important or unimportant signature links are in forums, it is impossible to say they do nothing. Forum signature links do show up in a backlink search though because most of the thread pages have little or no page rank, it is not considered a strong backlink. Regardless of the mystique that shrouds the true value of signature links as backlinks, they can be used to drive a large amount of traffic to your site- especially if the forum you are posting in is related to your website. Getting back to the point, this post was not intended to talk about signature links. Since I have gotten a good response from my “do follow” blog list, I decided that it was only logical to make a “do follow” forum list. This list will also be updated frequently.

If you find yourself in a similar situation as me, being stuck using work, college campus or under the rule of an overaggressive network administrator, you understand the my frustration when attempting to download torrents.

The network that I am using currently has a .torrent filter but with a little bit of tweaking torrent clients will still work. The problem is that the .torrent filter will block all files with the .torrent extension. If you are using Demonoid or a service that allows you to download the torrents as a .txt file this is no problem; however if you prefer to use piratebay.org or a different service that does not allow downloading torrents as .txt files there is a tool that can help you out.

Txtor, from http://txtor.dwerg.net is a simple script that will read the public torrent file that you supply the path to and offer it to your browser to download as a .txt file. After downloading all you need to do is to change the .txt to .torrent! Also, some torrent clients can read the txt file as is!

TORRUNT URL HERE!

So you want to get into link exchanging, but no one wants to trade with you because your pagerank sucks? You can now use a technique known as 302 Google Jacking to spoof a google pagerank 10.

1. Buy a domain.
2. 301 Redirect the domain either in your .htaccess, PHP header (anything server side) to a page with the desired page rank (If you want a pagerank of 10 then redirect it to google.com). It’s better to redirect to something relevant. For example, if you are doing a mortgage site, redirect to a mortgage site. The PHP code for this is:

Code:

/*
Code from:
HttpSeo.com - SEO Tips & Techniques
http://www.httpseo.com/
*/
< ?php
header(’HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently’);
header(’location:http://www.YourPR10Domain.com’);
exit;
?>

3. Link to the page with the redirect from another of your sites that gets regularly spidered by Google.
4. Wait for a Google Pagerank Update. Pagerank updates usually happen about every three months (nowadays it is fairly erratic).
5. Now you use any type of cloaking software:

Code:

/*
Code from:
HttpSeo.com - SEO Tips & Techniques
http://www.httpseo.com/
*/
< ?php
if(ip is in list) (list of google IPs){
header(’HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently’);
header(’location:http://www.YourPR10Domain.com’);
exit;}
else
{
header(’Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1?);
//Show your site
};
?>

The main drawback is that your site will not actually be indexed by Google as long as you are redirecting the Googlebots to other sites, so it?s really only good for link selling/trading. Having said that I wouldn’t claim to have a pagerank 10 site when you’re selling as that’s fraud.
This further illustrates how useless Google Pagerank has become in measuring a sites importance.
*UPDATE* - If you just want to have a pagerank 10 domain, you can just use this code:

Code:

/*
Code from:
HttpSeo.com - SEO Tips & Techniques
http://www.httpseo.com/
*/
< ?php
if (strstr($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'], “Googlebot”)) {
header(”HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently”);
header(”Location: http://www.google.com/”);
exit;
}
else {
header(’Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1′);
};
?>
< html>
< head>
< title>PR 10 page by httpseo.com< /title>
< /head>
< body>
<p>This page will have a PR of 10, but of course it won’t
actually rank for anything, so it’s only useful for selling
domains. </p>
< /body>
< /html>
